Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in a museum? Are you interested in learning valuable interpersonal and customer service skills, all while having fun with your friends? If so, consider becoming a teen volunteer at The Corning Museum of Glass!

Volunteering at The Corning Museum of Glass is a great way for teens 13 years or older to gain insight into potential careers and interests. Many of our teen volunteers move on to become Junior Curators and Explainers, or become a part of our Teen Leadership Council.

Opportunities

In our off-season (Labor Day - Memorial Day), teen volunteers can be found assisting guests throughout the facility, working alongside the Education Department during events, helping children with crafts at Family Night, and much more.

During the peak season (Memorial Day - Labor Day), our summer program for teens is in full swing. Participants spend a week volunteering at the Museum in a variety of locations, gaining real-world experience in customer service and behind-the-scenes museum work. Opportunities are available for full-day (9:00am - 4:30pm) or half-day (12:00pm - 4:30pm) shifts.

The summertime also features the Little Gather programming. For six weeks in July and August, teen volunteers can assist with weekly shows that are free and open to the public. Past programming has included storytelling, puppet shows, music, and much more!
